Tips For Applying To Vet Tech Schools
If you are at the point where you are getting ready to apply for veterinary technician schools, here are some tips that will hopefully get you accepted. With more and more competition, you need every little bit of help you can get.
First of all, try to get as much work in at a veterinary clinic as possible. Since this is one of the main areas they look at, the more the better.
Second, your grades have to be top notch. If they are not you can either retake some of the courses or hope your large amount of real world experience will carry you over. But in most cases you need at least a minimum grade point average to apply for vet tech school.
Third, find people who will give you a great letter of reference. Most people will give you a letter of reference if you ask, but ask them if they will give you a good letter of reference.
Asking someone to write you a letter of reference when they do not think to highly of you is a waste of time and counterproductive. So ask them if they will give you a GOOD letter.
Anyone can get letters of reference from people they know, which is why your letters need to be better.
Applying to vet tech schools can be frustrating trying to get everything completed before the deadline, but it will be worth it when you get that letter of reference in the mail saying you were accepted!
