Vet Tech Resume Guidelines
Many people ask me for vet tech resume guidelines. While there are none specifically that I know of, here are some hints on how to write your resume so people notice you and some big mistakes to avoid.
The most important thing is to make sure it looks professional. I have seen some vet techs send their resume on colored paper with animal pictures on it. We all love animals, but it does not look professional at all.
Your resume has to be on plain white paper, no colors or pictures!
You should also separate your resume into Education, Experience, and References. Provide dates for everything and provide at least three references to people who are NOT related to you.
Make sure there are no typos and try to have several people read it before you send it in if possible.
Just by have a vet tech resume that looks respectable and professional you will be much further ahead than other people who have applied for the same position.
You may want to be creative, but it is not the place to do it on your vet tech resume, be professional!
